Janne E. Nijman

Janne E. Nijman is a senior lecturer and researcher at the International Law Department and a research fellow of the Amsterdam Center for International Law. She also participates in The International Rule of Law research programme. Nijman is a member on the International Law Association, International Committee on Non-State Actors. She participates in the Research Community on ‘Non-State Actors in International Law’ based at the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies and funded by the Flemish Fund for Scientific Research. Nijman acts as a guest lecturer at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ and at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies. She is the founder of the Nijman International Law Office.
Janne Nijman is on the board of the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Internationaal Recht (the Dutch branch of the International Law Association) and an editor on the board of the Netherlands Yearbook of International Law. She is a board member of the Grotiana Foundation and editor on the board of Grotiana. She is also a member of the executive board of Oikos, an NGO focused on fair and sustainable globalization.’ Finally Nijman is a Research advisor on Global Justice to The Broker, a bimonthly magazine that aims to 'bridge the gap' between academics and development policy makers.
