Linda Mayoux is a global consultant who has worked on gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment in economic development since 1997. This included work on gender issues and participatory methodologies in value chain development for the UK Department for International Development and the International Labour Organization. She is currently global consultant for Oxfam Novib’s Women’s Economic Empowerment Mainstreaming and Networking (WEMAN) programme, which aims to remove gender discrimination in access to livelihood development services and policy making, including financial services, technical support, value chain development and economic policy. This includes further development of Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS) participatory methodologies for a range of value chains in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
