Harry C. Boyte (USA) is founder and co-director of the Center for Democracy and Citizenship at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute, USA. In partnership with communities and civic groups in hundreds of sites in the US and internationally, the Center develops theory about civic agency and civic learning through participatory action research. Harry is also co-chair of the Civic Engagement Group of Barack Obama’s US presidential campaign, and the author of, most recently, The Citizen Solution; How You Can Make a Difference, in which he gives practical advice for building up a ‘citizens movement’.
