Nanotechnology and the BTWC

Ineke Malsch is director of Malsch TechnoValuation, consultant on Science and Society.
This year the 7th review conference of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention will take place in Geneva. In preparation for the discussions, the NGO BioWeapons Prevention Project has initiated discussions to prepare civil society for this review conference. One of the topics is How will technology developments influence the BTWC? In response to some suggestions by Kathryn Nixdorf related to nanotechnology, I have given some food for thought (see link below). Contributions to this discussion are welcome.
Furthermore, the Dutch Societal Dialogue on Nanotechnology is coming to an end in the Nanofestival on 27 January in Amsterdam. I will contribute to dialogue sessions on nanotechnology and religion and on nano squared. You are welcome to participate as well: www.nanofestival.nl
